Basic laboratory chemicals

So now you've got a lab, and it's stocked with the basic equipment? Well I'm sure you'd like to actually do some chemistry, now that you've spent all that money. But of course, you'll need some basic chemicals to start doing chemistry. Chemistry is all metric, but products are sold by the english system still, so I will label them in english amounts. To find out where to get these, check the OTC Database

• Vinegar (acetic acid) - 1 quart to 1 gallon
• Acetone - 1 gallon
• Aluminum metal
• Ammonia water - half gallon to 1 gallon
• A nitrate salt (potassium nitrate or ammonium nitrate - 1 to 2lbs
• Calcium Chloride - >2lbs
• Carbon (charcoal) - 1lb or more
• Copper metal
• Ethanol - 16oz
• Hexamine - 1lb
• Hydrochloric acid - 1 gallon
• Hydrogen peroxide (shoot for ~30%) - >1 quart
• Isopropyl alcohol - >1 quart
• Iron metal
• Magnesium sulfate - >1lb
• Methyl Ethyl Ketone - >1 quart
• Sodium Bicarbonate - 1lb
• Sodium Chloride - >1lb
• Sodium Hydroxide - 1lb
• Chlorate salt (sodium or potassium) - 1lb or more
• Sodium Hypochlorite - 1 gal
• Sulfur - 1lb
• Sulfuric acid - >1 quart

Obviously thats quite a basic list. I did not include any chemicals that can only be used for one synthesis. There are no quantities written for metals, because I don't what it's available as where everyone resides.
