Energetic Materials

An energetic material is a compound that has the ability to decompose explosively (Explode). Energetic materials are compounds that normally need to be synthesized and can sometimes be very difficult. Normally energetic materials are not made in great quantities, they are just made to see if you can make them.

Explosives in Red are explosives that I either have everything to make them, or I just havn't written a synthesis

Explosives that are Links, have been performed and a synthesis has been written for them

Explosives in Yellow are being researched and will either be tested soon or removed from this page. Reasons for removal include, no way to isolate to a pure form, or pointless to make.

PRIMARIES - Primary explosives are those that can be set off with a fuse and are usually used to create the power needed to detonate secondaries. Most of these explosives are unstable and should not be made in quantities greater than 10 grams.

Acetone Peroxide

Cyanuric Triazide

DDNP (Diazodinitrophenol)

Double Salts (silver acetylide)

HMTD (Hexamethylenetriperoxidediamine)

Lead Azide

Lead Picrate

MEKP (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide)

Mercury Fulminate

Nitrogen Sulfide

Nitrosoguanidine

Silver Azide

Trinitroazidobenzene

SECONDARIES - Secondary explosives are those that need a detonator to be set off. These are usually extremely powerful and most are stable but there are some unstable ones. Do not make in large quantities unless sufficiently experienced with them.

Ammonium Picrate

C.T.M.T.N.A.-r (Cyclotrimethylenetrinitrosoamine-r)

EGDN (Ethylene Glycol Dinitrate)

ETN (Erythritol tetranitrate)

Guanidine Nitrate

Tetracene

Tetranitroaniline

Tetryl

Trinitrophenoxyethyl Nitrate

TNT (Trinitrotoluene)

Urea Nitrate

MIXTURES/BLASTING AGENTS - Mixtures are good for quick preparations of explosives, but some require other explosives to make (such as dynamite). They usually can provied unbelievable ammounts of power or are easy to produce in mass quantities (very rarely do you find an explosive with both properties).

Ammonium nitrate based mixtures

Blasting Gelatin

OTHER EXPLOSIVES - These are explosives that have no practical use. They are either highly sensitive or are just made for the fun of it.
